What does the conversion to permanent hire look like?

A portion of your interim investment is credited toward that placement fee, so the money you spent during the evaluation period carries forward. The executive transitions from Artemis payroll to yours with no disruption. We walk you through the specific credit structure during the engagement.

Who handles payroll and employment during the interim period?

Artemis serves as the employer of record. The interim executive is W-2 through us. We handle payroll, benefits administration, and compliance. You receive a single invoice. No co-employment complexity on your end.

What if the interim executive is not the right fit?

Either party may terminate the interim engagement with five business days written notice. If the fit is not right, we replace them quickly from our bench or transition to a retained permanent search. Our weekly pulse checks are designed to surface issues early, before they become problems.

Is there a minimum engagement period?

Yes. We require a 30-day minimum engagement. Anything shorter does not provide enough time for the executive to make a meaningful impact or for you to properly evaluate fit. Most interim engagements run 90 to 180 days.

How is the interim daily rate determined?

The daily rate is based on the executive's annualized compensation divided by 220 working days, plus a management markup that covers Artemis oversight, benefits administration, and placement value. We provide a transparent rate breakdown before any engagement begins.
